I'm having a problem starting windows upon start up the message "Delete
restoration data and proceed to system boot menu" appears. The help page
from Microsoft tells me to select this option. My problem is how to select
if the keyboard and mouse are froze. The only adivse I keep getting is to
select but no one tells me how to do this without a mouse or keyboard.
Please help help help

Re: Keyboard & mouse froze

Shut down the system and do a hard boot - unplug the power supply and wait
at least 10 seconds, then reboot. That should clear it up. If not, reset
your bios defaults.

Re: Keyboard & mouse froze

Thanks Kelly. I did shut the system down and unpluged, but the same message
appeared. I'm not sure how to reset the bios defaults. Also my husband is
going to get a new keyboard and see if that will work and allow us to select
the Dete restoration data option.

Re: Keyboard & mouse froze

Most welcome. This generally has to do with the hiberfil.sys files.
My next question would have been if you were using an usb keyboard/mouse.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: Keyboard & mouse froze

Kelly, my keyboard is a PS/2. I was able to get in and change the bios, but
the same message appears. I still an not able to chose the Delete
restoration data and proceed to boot menu option. Any other suggestions are
welcome. I'm desperate. I have read that this is a problem that microsoft
has incurred since 2005. Anyone else experiencing this please talk to
me!!!!! I am going to change out the keyboard later to day to see if that
helps in selecting the option.

Re: Keyboard & mouse froze

My keyboard is a usb kekyboard but the mouse is PS/2. I'm really disgusted
here been trying everything. The keyboard does work because I can get in to
bios. But the information from microsoft explains that you have to select
the message Delete restoration data and .... by using the enter key. I
tried it but nothing happens
