When I choose 'Hibernate', nothing happens. No error message, nothing.
Running XP Pro, SP3, 2 GB RAM.

I can log off and then get hibernate to work, but of course logging off
shuts down all apps, which I don't want to do.

Any solutions, or any other info I can provide to help diagnose?

Thanks,

Chris

Also, the 'enable hibernation' box is checked in power options.

Would've edited the original post but don't see an editing function
here...am I just not seeing it?

Re: Hibernate Won't Work in XP Pro, SP3

....you receive an error message when you try to put the computer in standby
or in hibernation:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951447

Free unlimited installation and compatibility support is available for
Windows XP, but only for Service Pack 3 (SP3), until 14 Apr-09. Chat and
e-mail support is available only in the United States and Canada. Go to
http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?gprid=1173 | select "Windows
XP" then select "Windows XP Service Pack 3"
