Connect computer not successful on a node

I am trying to run \\server\connectcomputer on a node running Windows XP
Professional. Everytime I run it a message comes "The selected computer is
already a member of this domain. There is no need to run the Small Business
Server Network Configuration Wizard again"

I have tried all of the following methods without success:
1. Deleting the computer from the Active Directory computer listing.
2. Disabling the computer from the Active Directory computer listing.
3. Removing the computer from the network of Standard Management ->
Client Computers.
4. Changing the computer connection to a workgroup and then back to
Domain.
5. Rebooting the Server.

I shall appreciate for the guidance from the experts here. Thanking you in
anticipation.

Try this.
Assuming the PC is not in the domain still.
(If so remove it.)
Change the Name of the PC
(To anything other than what you want to name it.)
Reboot PC
Delete name of computer in AD listing.
Wait 15mins
Re ADD Computer with the name you want in AD.
Wait 15min
Run http://server/connectcomputer again
Have the computer changed to the new name

15mins may not be exaggerating but it should work.

I tried your advice and Watling for more than 15 minutes but it does not
work.

Now I am unable to change the computer name too. Shall appreciate your
assistance.

UH? what does it say when you try to change the computer name?
(Are you sure it's not removed from the domain? sounds like it's in a Domain
of some sort?)

I did the following steps:
Changed computer name from ABC to RJ
Asked for reboot
Rebooted and logged on RJ as domain admin
After Reboot, deleted RJ computer from the AD of SBS
Waited for 15 min.
Added client computer V4 in SBS
Waited for 15 min.
Run http://server/connectcomputer
Got the message "The selected computer is already a member of this domain.
There is no need to run the Small Business Server Network Configuration
Wizard again"
Have tried rebooting the node. The computer neither shows in the AD under
the domain computers nor under the MyBusiness -> SBS computers.

Am in a fix as there is only one domain on SBS.

Your valuable advice shall be appreciated.

The domain is named as "DOMAIN" and I do not use a workgroup. Rather I
connect the computer to the domain.

Then Re connect it!

It should be in a WorkGROUP
BEFORE you use the http://server/connectcomputer

OK?
The Connectcomputer is a wizard that MOVES the PC into the domain and sets
57 things :)

I had tried that earlier but while connecting, it fails to find the user.

By the way I had successfully connected two other nodes by this method but
never faced this problem. of "The selected computer is already a member of
this domain. There is no need to run the Small Business Server Network
Configuration Wizard again"
