Re: Connect computer not successful on a node

Rajiv, you _are_ talking to an expert (Russ) and he has told you the exact
cause of the problem.

You state earlier.
The domain is named as "DOMAIN" and I do not use a workgroup. Rather I
connect the computer to the domain.

DO NOT connect the computer to the domain before running /connectcomputer.
The PC should be in a workgroup at this point.

Re: Connect computer not successful on a node

Hi,

I am grateful to the advice been given by the experts. It is from these
newsgroups that I have learnt a lot and am able to handle my small
organization.

Coming to the point. Till yesterday I tried all the suggestions given by
Russ and am grateful to that. However nothing worked. At long last, I went
through the Add or remove Programme and removed Nero which was not being
used on the node but was bundled with the Intel software. Subsequently I ran
the connectcomputer and EUREKA it worked. Now I shall try on my main
machine.

Once again thanks for your valuable suggestions and advice.

Re: Connect computer not successful on a node

Following Connectcomputer, I am getting the following message on the nodes:
"Client Setup could not remove a special account created to migrate user
settings from the previous user of this computer. Contact the person
responsible for your network."

Kindly suggest a work around.

Thanking you,
