Filing operations

Does anyone know if its possible to place a hook of some sort so that a routine in (in this case) a C#.NET application can get called when a filing operation happens?

eg: I would like to know when files are created/deleted/renamed/etc so that I can track windows favourites lists.

You might find the FileSystemWatcher class will suit your needs, it will raise an event when a file is modified, created or deleted.
