If you are logged on as an administrator and don't have the security tab,
why don't you post your current problem as a NEW post.

I logged in as Administrator in safe mode and then i had the security tab. it
took me awhile to figure out how to actually gain ownership of the data but i
got it all. Thank You very much for you help. I dont know where'd i be
without it. Though my exact problem was not solved i found a way around it.
if i didn't have that spare drive i'd be screwed. loosing my settings don't
mean much to me compared to my data. Thanks man!

Glad to hear that you have recovered your data. I have found dual booting
to provide an easier way to correct problems than trying to work blind using
a command line as well as a temporary replacement for work until there is
time to do the repairs.
