Re: Right Click Menu Disappeared

Well, you got that one right, Martin.....and the other wherein you said
Heirloom and I (among others) were ignored when we suggested it was
probably a bad mouse.

Har Har Harry NEVER listens to advice. Or if he does, he manages to
screw up something else at the time of fixing.

Sigh......

As a 'trailer' to these comments:
It definitely was not a foregone conclusion for the mouse itself to be at
fault.
My 'HiTech Guy' pointed out to me the possibility of some software glitch as
well.
Would have come up with this sooner, but time is <limited>. <H>.

So are you telling us that the replacement mouse still hasn't fixed the
problem?

No, Mart......he is waffling as usual. You surely didn't expect to get
a straight answer, did you??

I think he should fire his "HiTech Guy".....and buy a new computer.
OTOH, we could threaten him with a nasty bit of torture if he doesn't
stop messing about with things he is clueless on......hmmm, nah...won't
go there. LOL!!

Night, Mart.....get to bad, old guy!!

OOPS....that should have been "get to BED"....but bad is OK too, if you
remember what it was. (G)

or is that 'going bad', by any chance? That wouldn't be 'too bed' either,
would it?

Mart asked :-
>> So are you telling us that the replacement mouse
>> still hasn't fixed the problem?

and Harry replied :-
> Of course not.

Which I ASS-U-ME to mean that the replacement mouse HAS fixed the problem.

If so, then why, after sending us down the original cul-de-sac where you
implied that the right-click function issue only affected the desktop
context menus (and nothing else) and linked it with your Ad-Aware
'experiments', did you not try any/all the suggestions offered at an earlier
stage? (Admittedly, you conceded that you'd already run System Restore
without success, but that was only after further interrogation)

- Of course, I can answer that one with your perpetual stock excuse, "you
didn't have time!"

So you didn't even have time to do a very simple test on your mouse in
Control Panel?

But had you made the time and done so Harry, I think that even you would
have eventually realized that you had a faulty mouse and come to the same
"foregone conclusion" that the rest of us had already reached. Heather even
suggested substituting the mouse in the fifth post in the thread. And here
we are, some 50+ posts later, still having to ASS-U-ME that the problem is
now resolved.

Not for the first time Harry, if you're not prepared to act on advice, why
bother to ask for it. You're not only wasting your 'valuable time', but ours
too!

Why waste ink?
We all know Harry!
Here's a guy, comes on this newsgroup offering advice (via Google),
yet, has to take his mouse to a "HiTech Guy" to have it checked out.

God help us.

Amen to that George.

However, I suppose that the most important lesson that I really ought to
have learned over the years of dealing with Harry is, when your head aches,
demolish the brick wall.

Re: Right Click Menu Disappeared

ROFL!! I cringe when I see him offer *advice* late at night when you
gurus are fast asleep.......and I have been known to warn the OP that
Harry doesn't have two clues to rub together and that they should wait
until you all are up and about.

A thought.....how come he never has time for anything?? He claims to be
retired, so he should have all the the time in the world. Maybe he is
really 30 years old with an IQ in the single digits. (G)

Heather
(and stay off the antivirus group, Harry....you know dick all about that
sort of stuff....which you have now amply proven)
