Why should you care Frankie? Just looking for another excuse for you
to scream Linux troll at somebody?

Evidently, my understanding appears to be on a higher level to yours.

Define 'newer' and 'older'.

If your idea of an old computer is a two year old Prescott machine you would
be right, in your narrow minded newbie world. In all other cases, you are
so wrong.

What do you have to do with this conversation?
Shouldn't you be trying to figure out how to correctly configure your
Vista install instead of stalking me?
Well...?

What AV are you using? Any active bot scanners? IM? Have you checked the
Task Manager for items you can disable? After the first 3 minutes following
reboot, my machine pretty much purrs on less than 10% of the 3Ghz CPU. As
far as temp, it isn't even warm to my fingers.

Re: What you should do

Re: What you should do

10% of 3 Ghz is 300 Mhz, or a Pentium II just for vista to sit there?

THAT IS A DISCGRACE!

My xp works on 0 - 1 %

No, not just sit there, fool, send/receive mail/news/IMs/weather updates,
all with 'net radio streaming along while I type silly replies to children
like you. Forget about it, kiddo, changed my mind about trying to help you.

The possibility of having 2 people so dumb in the same forum is infinitely
close to zero.

Re: What you should do

No, you have it wrong again, but that's what mental retardation does to
someone. Now, go hit the Hibernate switch on your TV, oven, Vibrator,
computer, and drag yourself outside because someone put kibble in your dish.
Then you can sit in the yard all day licking yourself. That way you won't
be bothering folks here in the vista group.

Who claimed expert? The point was that it was LESS THAN 10% CPU with
multiple active programs simultaneously downloading content, not just Vista
sitting pretty. If some dumb punk in short pants is going to whine and moan
about his CPU problems and then refuse offers of help, then what was the
purpose of his visit? He's a troll, and he just proved it. You, on the other
hand, found it necessary to label me, based on one post, while adding
absolutely nothing of value to the conversation, except n opportunite for me
to point out your uselessness. ;-)

Carl I have Unubtu running on the same spec as a Vista comp. And the Ubuntu
runs at exactly the same consumption.

Software has littlie to do with it so concentrate on Hard ware. Processors
are running cooler with improved cooling hence less consumption. Fans have
improved less consumption. Everything has improved. Only you run that old
crap that consumes.
