to and I presume the file path you mention is in Explorer. I am not sure
if I am right but I dragged the downloaded file from the Desk Top after
unzipping into the Skins folder where the Adaware SE files were. However,
the updates do not show on the AdAware Control Panel Interface so how can
I know that they are doing the job?
The Ad-Aware SE folder default location is
C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE
(there are other folders within that folder - Lang - Plug ins - Skins)
The definitions should be unzipped into the main - AdAware SE personal
folder, not the "skins" folder.
(The main AdAware folder contains files like "Ad-Aware.exe" -
"alert.wav" - "defs.ref" and "defs.ref.old etc. as well as the other
support folders listed above)
Drag or cut/paste the downloaded unzipped latest "defs.ref" into the main
Ad-Aware folder and you will be asked if you want to replace the current
one.
Select "yes" and the latest definition dates will be reflected in the
Ad-Aware control panel
