Re: Can't Install Installer Cleanup

Will look into the log Mike. Meanwhile, if you can send the Process Monitor log (see my previous post) that would help as well.

Ok, it looks like this has to be some sort of real-time transfer. Do you know
of another way I can get a zip file to you?

I've set up another exchange. Here's the URL.

Re: Can't Install Installer Cleanup

I had the same problem that you are having. I think it has to do with
the fact that the old version of Windows Installer CleanUp is stopping
the new version from installing.

So what I did was go to C:\Program Files\Windows Installer CleanUp\ and
ran the program from there and did a cleanup install of itself!

I then installed the new version and worked with no problem. It's
really ridiculous that the program that is supposed to "clean up" your
installations is the one causing the problem. Anyway, I hope it helps.

Re: Can't Install Installer Cleanup

Ramesh:

Well, the problem got resolved.

My daughter invited a virus onto our PC that trashed the C drive. I had to
totally wipe the drive, and reinstall everything.

I had no problem installing WIC after this. :)

Thanks for all the help (I learned a lot that will hopefully help "next
time")!
