Gateway p 6835 notebook running Vista with updates installed and ACT 7.
Tried to download vista service pack auto update for SQL 2005, 56 meg, did
not install error..2B26
SOLUTION: ?
Try auto starting any SQL SERVICES in SERVICES folder, as well as ACT 7
SERVICE, reboot, now download service pack 2 for SQL 2005.
SQLServer2005SP2-KB921896-x86-ENU.exe 289 meg.
Run service pack as admin, dont worry if any SQL services are not running.
The update will say " could not load writer " dont worry just reboot and run
service pack again, this time it will update " writer " you should be good
to go....
Here's a work around for future auto update notices regarding SQL 2005
since it will not show any updates after this install.

Download folder to open it, and then delete all files in the folder. If you
