Hi J T,

Have you ever thought of going to the library and use their computer with a
floppy drive and downloading the boot disk there? At least it is worth the
try to solve the problem. That way you can get into the safe mode of the
laptop.

That was it, in all probability! I calculate only a 5% chance he was
abducted by one of the Martians that have recently popped in-- & 20%
that he has fallen into an XP-pit!

Hi PCR,
I suggested that he go to the library and use their computer to download
a boot disk to a floppy. Maybe he got lost in the library. He could even go
to another place where they have public access to a computer, such as
Kinko's. I made that suggestion in my post 8/28/07 6:44 PM. I wonder if he
will see that post. Of course others can also try the suggestion.
