Re: (Mart)Re: Malware help please
It really is your call Tarcia. If you only use it infrequently and you are
generally happy with its performance (i.e. pre-HDD issues!!) then, probably
yes - bearing in mind that WinMe is an obsolete operating system which is no
longer supported by MS.
On the other hand, if as you allude in your reply to Harry (elsewhere in
this thread), you'd like a few extra improvements - graphics and probably
speed for online gaming, then don't throw more money at your current PC.
Instead, put it towards a brand-new, basic PC - just shop around and make
sure you buy from a reliable (High Street) store. You don't need to buy an
expensive mid to high end machine and you'll still certainly see the
difference even at a basic price level from WinMe on an old PC. Try to buy
one with XP installed if you can, rather than Vista. But you'll most likely
find that most 'deals' will come with Vista installed. You'll soon get used
to it <g>
As I live on the other side of the 'pond' to you, I can't recommend any
bargains - just keep an eye on your national press for adverts for best
deals - and reliable stores!
