In my documentation of a typical day of frank, our newsgroup idiot,
I did not say anything about humans having s*x with sheep.
This is something Frank alone keeps talking about, I only added it because
it his references
to the topic.

I only said that frank says in his dream "but now I have these sheep to
myself.. all mine.. come to me you white wooly creatures"

He could be a Sheppard (with the amount of computer know how frank has that's
the only job that fits him anyway)
or he might want to eat them. He is not exactly a vegetarian you know...

I am not getting upset with Alias, I am just responding to his BS. Doesn't
make me mad, I don't take any of this personal. You are right, Life is too
short to get upset with the OS another person offers but with Alias trying
to let people know that it's an alternative, I am trying to let them know
that Ubuntu is a piece of crap. Just my opinion, like Alias has his
opinion. I won't have a heart attack over this group. Hell, most of the

But he is not trying to convert everybody. It would be insane of him to
want to get rid of the main impetus to the development and improvement of
GNU/Linux.

Again, promoting competition in the OS market is good for all OS users,
no matter what OS they use.

Yep, Frank is hardly an enigma. He's actually very easy to figure out.
He's just some insecure self-loathing nobody that craves attention. He
has delusions of grandeur often trying to project himself as good
looking, wealthy and clever. He pretends to run a business and has
other often repeated hallucinations he shares. Frank apparently also
has several sexual perversions having an unhealthy obsession with
sheep and other barnyard animals.

Frank spends a disproportional amount of his days, nights and weekends
goofing off in this newsgroup because he is what most would imagine a
loser to be having little if any social interaction with others. His
life revolves around this newsgroup. Without it Frank would probably
fall into a deep depression and likely hurt himself or torture small
fury animals. Frank mostly is harmless. A total doofus and putz.

Frank has a deep seated Don Quixote complex where he takes up causes
fighting imaginary enemies much as the wannabe knight did in the 1604
published novel titled "The Ingenious Knight of La Mancha" where the
main character of the story would chase after windmills, fancy them
being giants and say he was off to slay them for the good of the
community and of course to receive lavish praise for his efforts.

Frank plays that role in this newsgroup by always coming to the
defense of Microsoft and MVPs and is dumb enough to actually think
they appreciate his constant blustering on their behalf.

The reality is Frank in a complete idiot. He constantly gets caught in
his web of lies, he often accuses others for shortcomings he exhibits
himself. Frank is nothing special. Most popular newsgroups have one or
more of their own screw-ups that like Frank spend their time
daydreaming and in general being an obnoxious pest.

Sure, it is best to just ignore morons like Frank, but it also is fun
to wind up him and get him sputtering which is way too easy to
accomplish because Frank is several cuts below your average troll,
knows next to nothing about the topic he fakes being expert at and
because of it is entertaining in his own sick way.

I don't think Ubuntu is worthless. I keep saying that Ubuntu is great for
EMail, Web Surfing, and I'm sure Open Office is good for some people. For
most people who work in a corporate environment, OpenOffice isn't the write
package.

It's not only me, there are countless others who don't want to hear about
Ubuntu here. This isn't the right place to be hawking Ubuntu. Go ask
others their opinions. I use XP as my main development box and I also use
Vista. I like Vista but can't do serious development on that platform as of
yet. Doesn't make me a fool, just careful.

Don't need to try the newest version of Ubuntu. The applications are still
the same. Worthless for most people here because they already have MS type
applications and they don't want to throw those away. Even the next version
of Ubuntu, which might be better at the OS level will still run OpenSource
applications. I am smart enough to realize that Ubuntu still doesn't work
for me. Most others probably know the same thing.

Yeah, thanks to MS's proprietary file formats mostly. But that's
changing too. For the vast majority of home users, OO does more than
they really even need.

throwing away apps and replacing them.

Though I'm still hanging on to WinAmp 2.95 on my XP computer.

computer users needs. Especially the security impaired computer
illiterates that are the average computer user.

And most people don't need to do what you do with your computers.

You should be open about that part of it. You aren't an average computer
user, and your computing needs are much different than that of the
average computer user, who would be quite content using Ubuntu on a day-
to-day basis, once it has been setup properly.

And installing and setting up Ubuntu 8.04 AMD64 was faster than setting
up Vista Ultimate x64 was for me. But then again I'm not the average
computer illiterate either.

I have offered to help him in any way I can.. but of course with his
elevated ego,
he would never accept my offer.

I believe that anyone can improve his or her ways and become the person they
were destined to be.

In my eyes I see that frank although he may have many positive aspects to
him, he has buried them, and now
is living in a life of limitation. What I know for sure is that his negative
nature is the result of something very bad that happened to him.
Im not sure what exactly although I have guessed. That's why I don't blame
him.

But whatever may have happened, we must not let bad events destroy us. In
the end we are responsible for our reaction to events, even if they are
very unfortunate. It depends on the character of a person if he will take a
bad event and let it sink him into despair, or use it as a platform to
reach new levels of abilities and understanding. I have very philosophical
view on these matters.

The stuff I post about Frank is more of a joking nature, I am sure he
understand this.. No ill intent exists...

If he would take the time to talk for a while like a normal serious person
and we discussed a few things, he would see that
there is far more to me that a simple vista basher. Vista bashing is only a
hobby.

OO will probably do more than what the home user needs but Ubuntu still
isn't as user friendly as Windows. Lots of users will become frustrated.
Look at the market now. Ubuntu/Linux has been out for years and it just
hasn't caught on. Ubuntu/Linux still needs a long way to go before home
users will embrase the technology.

I'm not afraid of Ubuntu. Not a chance. Ubuntu may take over Windows at
some time, but I will be retired by then and won't care. By that time,
maybe I'll be using Ubuntu because all I'll be doing is Web Surfing,
E-Mailing, and posting crap with Alias!

The average computer user wants more hand holding and ease of use with their
computers. Ubuntu still doesn't give them that. There are line commands
that people still need to enter to do things. That is a big "show stopper"
for most.

I'm sure Ubuntu is easier to set up than Vista. I set up Ubuntu and it was
very easy. No complaints there.
