Only found;

hpzsta9x.exe (3 occurrence, same size and date)
hpzstatx.exe

Note that I didn't find any hpzsta9.exe

I renamed hpzstatx and was able to print from two different apps

Could I have another minute of your time? WTF is/was going on?

Many thanks. Hope it 'holds'.

Re: Having strange local network printing problem - could use somehelp/ideas

You guys have gotten me thinking again. I haven't had to do this for
many years.

The printing capability didn't last for long. However, it appears
(also) to be related to OpenOffice.

At the moment, it appears that it is OO Calc that won't print and then
hangs up the printer for all users.

That is, if I reboot and print from WordPad, it works. If I then open
and print from OO Write, it works. If I then open OO Calc and print, it
doesn't and hangs the printer up.

If I then reboot and print first from OO Calc, it doesn't print and hangs.

Do either of you use OpenOffice?

But I use OO Calc on the laptop (XPSP2) and print from there, if for no
other reason than I can't print Calc from the desktop.

Try this search and others:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Open+Office+Calc+causes+printer+crash&btnG=Google+Search

I can't help with Open Office, all present machines are running versions
of Windows for testing... just one more issue which throws off results.
