Re: open letter to W98 users

Hi Rick,

I talked to George just a couple of days before he headed out last year. I
have *all* of his e-mail addresses. Is he still able to respond to them,
because if so , I'd like to drop him a note. I met George before he got his
MVP status. We began e-mailing to each other, and he has helped me
immensely. I will always consider him my mentor.

Please let me know if there are any "special" ways of contacting him.

And don't forget

| Yes I always tease George that he must work for the cia for taking such
| long sea excursions all the time, and disappearing for months at a time.
He

| Anyway, again I wish you the very best blessings getting the kinks out of

A few months ago he spoke of being fully retired now and that he was doing
well, that his wife is trying her hardest to keep him busy and active. He
mentioned he just hasn't made it back to the MS groups yet and also
commented he spends little time on the internet at all. He said most of his
computer time in fact is taken up with software development and on his
latest project I'd already mentioned in my other post.

Some of his older various addresses don't work anymore you'll see.

Our last back/forth was using his mvps.org one, and so use that one.

....as you know even though it's also still up, no one posts on his proboard

Re: open letter to W98 users

I know Rick...I wanted to see Proboards take off,and he gave me full
privileges, but I Alone certainly don't have the technical expertise to
entirely run the show. I believe Brian A. (now MVP) has same privileges.

I used to use the proboards URL in my sig, but we start getting hundreds of
MB I would guess of spammers there, many of them foreign. Funny thing was,
I only had to lock a couple of the categories down.

I've got the address you spoke of (hoping *that's* still right), and will
try to get a hold of him. If no luck, I'll let you know--perhaps we can
work something out.

Thank you Rick

Re: open letter to W98 users

Using the geog@ won't get through. That's now a spam trap. But bindar
should be OK. Just checked it. Also have a couple of new ones. Like Rick
said. I don't spend much time on the net at all now and further to the last
time I was in touch I hardly write any code now either. As soon as I
remember how to get into the old forum as admin. I'll be closing it. There
is a totally new site (all CSS based) getting ready to put on line and it
includes a new forum and blog all themed the same.
Yep, I'm still alive but I'm sure that like everyone else it's only a
temporary situation.

I have new systems now and as soon as I recover all of my address books from
CD I'll start getting in touch again. Although a couple of old "friends"
that I did reply to came back with snarly responses.

Did you finish the application that allows the user to right click a chm
file and it ends up being decompiled and converted to web help ready for
publishing?

Hi there Rick
That app is working on about 90% of the files I run it against. It
