Vista has done everything I have asked it to do, with no problems period.

I dunno. 88 million is about 80 million more than have implemented the 35
varieties of Linux.

They've been trying. For over a year.

This is the reason no one really pays attention to Alias has to say. It's
lunatics like her that make Linux users look so bad in many people's eyes.
On one hand, all this *clown* can talk about is how Frank is throwing
insults at her. While the other hand, she throws this kind of insult. She is
nothing but a hypocrite and is untrustworthy, even based on her actions I
don't see that much, since I killfiled that *clown* long ago.

But I guess someone has to keep that lunatic in check as she runs her mouth
endlessly in a worthless loop.

Keep up the good work and whip her. In the meantime, Linux dominance in the
Web server world is what is coming to an end. I don't need to see Alias skin
and blood on the walls as she makes the sacrifice and is just a sacrificial
lamb.

It's up to the vendor's software developers to make their software compliant
with Vista, just like that had to do with Windows XP after XP was released.

I have been hearing nothing about how Linux is going to take over the world
for the last 7 years from people like Alias. When is it going to happen? It
will never happen. It will be some new player that over takes MS due to some
major technical logical change. Linux is not the solution that's going to do
that, as it's just using the same technology as every other O/S solution is
using to keep pace.

I have to agree with alias here.
Sooner or later there will be a new interface and windows will go.
It really depends on what hardware advances are made as to when and what
will happen.
It has little to do with ubuntu though.

While you are here..
you know that little tip you got about alt-s shutting down ubuntu.
Does it save your work first?
Do you have to be logged on?
BTW what was wrong with pressing the power switch to shutdown?

Re: Forget about Vista SP1, Just Go with XP SP3 and Windows 7

The brand "Windows" will be around long after Ubuntu has been surpassed by
yet another Linux distro. 'Orac' and 'Computer' are a long way off yet..

Take this article, replace Vista references with XP, and replace XP
references
with Win2K or Win98, and we're where we were in 2002-03. Xp acceptance
didn't really get going until after SP1. Or maybe we can go back to
'95-'96,
and use Win95 vs Win3.1 or WFWG 3.11. What goes around, comes around.

Of course not. The apps I use, however, save as I type and I can use
control S even if I can see the app before I shut it down.

I don't know but I'm always logged on so that's immaterial.

I don't know; you tell me.

"...88 millions fools who were parted..."
A very broad generalization.
Like most generalizations this one is clearly FALSE since it is all
inclusive and void of facts.

"Sure, pull the other one, will ya?"
And when you do not like the facts, you discount them.
This has been typical of businesses for past operating systems.
Of course, that does not mesh with your blind bias of most anything
Microsoft.

Well 88 million people obviously preferred to pay lots of money for Vista
rather than getting hold of the free OS you keep mentioning here. What does
that tell you?
