Don't hold your breath for a reply from Carey, he never backs up what he
says.

And you believe Microsoft when it comes to their "statistics"? You're one

Our knowledge of what a weasel Microsoft has been and continues to be, is
all the proof we need to question Microsoft's claims about anything. They
lie almost as much as you do Francis.

Strange how that is the experience of most purchasers, but when Microsoft
does the same, it found all those problems. Really, no one with half a
brain (obviously that excludes Francis) believes anything that Microsoft
has to say, or the MVP's that suck up to Microsoft.

Cheers.

Re: OEM

I have NEVER bought a retail version of windows. All OEM on eBay.
Including 1 WIN 98 3 XP's and 1 Vista.
Buy from a dealer with decent feedback who has sold other copies of Vista
that you want.

I have transferred licenses from WIN 98 and Two XP licensees.
When and IF you have you have to do phone activation, tell them your HDD
died.
Not sure how this would pan out for Vista though.
Honest? Maybe not, but fair? I think so.

Tonight is going to be great Francis. Yummmy! They're serving steamed Kraft
Dinner for supper at the Institution tonight. Enjoy!

Oh yeh, don't remove that cork from your fork. It's there to protect you
when you miss your mouth and hit an eyeball.

Remember, it's lights out at 9PM. Then you can get back to that fun stuff
you like to do with your buddy Bill Yawn. You might even get to be
the "top" tonight if you ask him nicely.

Cheers.

How about it?

Re: OEM

You can manipulate statistics in many ways.
It's all about perspective.

Like a tree full of Monkeys
If you are the top monkey and look down, you see all smiling faces trying to
climb to where you are.
If you're the bottom monkey, looking up, all you see are butts.

And, yes, 5 out of 4 people have trouble with fractions and statistics.

The difference is that you buy a 'license' to 'use' the software.

There are differences between buying a license to use a product as opposed
to buying the product. Just like you cannot copy or sell the license you
buy for your car or use that license for other cars that you own, software
has the same restriction.Software is considered to be intellectual property.

The difference between the OEM license and the Retail license is that the
OEM license is sold to a vendor, at a substantial discount. In return for
this discount the OEM software can only be installed on one computer.

Yet every single retail store, on line or mortar, says they sell
"software" and not a word about licenses. Naturally, people think they
are buying software and are surprised to find out they have been conned
by Ye Olde Bait and Switch.

Snip FUD to support the License Bait and Switch Con.
