Yep! And as usual, it's the paying customer that gets screwed the most,
and they actually keep paying MS to find new ways to do the screwing.

And XP users are still waiting for SP3. And Vista Ultimate users, don't
you love all those extras!

But don't get me started . . . .

I think kevpan has been posting to this group longer than you have. [ I
used to lurk this group while vista was in beta, and I seem to remember
the idiot for some unknown reason. ;-) ]

Thanks Kerry. Right now I'm using a combo of Vista64 SP1, XP MCE2005,
and Ubuntu 7.1 [Yeah, I know it's really 7.10, just trying to piss off
NoStop], and the one that is the most hassle-free for me is still XP.

Kurt,

I could care less if you call it "7.1". Where did you get the idea that I
would? In any case, I'm sure that after you've used Ubuntu for a time and
started to explore the inherent beauty and logic of the Linux-way of
running a computer your view will change dramatically. If at this stage
you're only familiar with the Windows-way of clicking an icon/menu item and
launching an app, you've only scratched the surface of the real power that
lurks below the surface of a Linux operating system.

Cheers.

So you do care then? Or do you mean you COULDN'T care less? If you COULD
care less, that means you care.

So the "Linux way" does not involve clicking icons and launching apps? No
wonder it's going nowhere.

Wow, you have time to listen to Internet radio with a friend (really a
patient in the institute that Alias resides), run 10 miles a day, run 3
companies, and post dribble all day long about Ubuntu and then, insult Frank
about his family?

If it doesn't sound true then it most likely isn't true. You are just a
fake, a troll, a moron, and a complete jerk off!

This isn't the 700 club or some other religious forum. Quoting from some
book that a bunch of stoned writers wrote a few thousand years ago, is out
of context. You really are an idiot.

Why not go knocking on doors and solicit money for your cult and that would
get you outta here. Just FYI

No, clicking icons is just a very small part of what's available when one
runs Linux. Try it sometime and you might understand what I'm talking
about.

Cheers.

Clicking icons is just a very small part of what's available when one runs
Vista. Try it sometime and you might understand what I'm talking about.

The problem with this attitude is: only geeks care about "the beauty and the
logic of the (Linux or Windows) way". People don't care about "the power
lurking below the surface". If it's not pretty and not easy to use, no
one will want it. People just want to get their stuff done - internet,
email, games, word processing - whatever. Only geeks get a computer to
run an OS.

If/when the "Linux communtity" ever figures this out, Linux might have a
future on the desktop. Until then, it will remain a geek toy.

BTW, I have tried Linux. Multiple times, multiple distros. PCLinuxOS is
the latest I've tried. I have it running in VPC. It's OK, but as always
Linux gives me nothing I don't already have with Windows, and actually gives
me less. I need Windows for my work. You can't develop Windows software
on Linux.

Your ill informed opinion.

It's not my fault that you used a no-win-answer question and are too
stupid to understand that you used it and didn't understand my example
of how those types of questions are lame.

You're the one who constantly lies, spews insults, uses profanity and
childish bluster, not me, so that makes YOU the POS for a human being.

You're one sick POS for a human being.
You're a known and admitted liar, troll, spammer and a bigoted atheist.
IOW's, a real loser.
You did it all to yourself.
So just live with it.

So you agree what I said is true! Good job. At least you did something
right today! Now go slither over to the Ubuntu group and try and make
yourself useful. Don't be a pain in the vista.general group. You are just
not wanted here.

Repeating the same lies, insults, profanity and bluster does nothing for
your credibility. Not replying to content doesn't either.
