That’s exactly the same thing I believe. If you are implying that I do that,
you are wrong.
I never say idiotic things that are not based on intense observation study
and understanding.

Optimistic and positive eh?

Have a good look at yourself first ... there is something going wrong with
your attitude.

I have no bad feelings about anyone in here, even frank.. so give it a rest
ok?

Well, no... It's not physics, see, it's software. For instance:
true to its VMS roots spawning a process is very expensive on Windows
platforms. Most of what you think of as multitasking is done via threads,
which are semi-independent parts of a single process. This is more
efficient in some ways since inter-thread communication and so on is
easier than inter-process. But each process has to take some responsibility
for managing its own threads, and the threads themselves can't rely on the
operating system and need to make use of critical sections and spin locks.

*That* isn't so efficient. Overhead rises much faster as the number
of threads grows than as the number of processes grows (because spinlocks
actually USE resources while waiting, and critical sections cause otherwise
runnable threads to block which makes other threads/processes wait...)

The basic problem is that because management overhead rises faster
as load increases Windows becomes less efficient faster, while a unix based
system will generally exhibit a more or less linear relationship between
load and response.

For example.

Well, I can't play Diablo while I do it but I can write reports
and such.

Why? Doesn't seem like such a resource intensive task to me.
