If there were actual support there would be no need for the weasel
phrases.

Frank, you are just too much.

I find all of what Alias says completely feasible....even knowing how 'you
people' are. You weren't even posting in the thread until this one.

I find you the most offensive troll here. Nary a civil discussion, nor
civil word, always trying to slam someone, or congratulating someone for
their attempted slam. Not that you care, but .......

Um, I found out about it here. Oops. I came here because my wife told me
in no uncertain terms that she was sick and tired of LA and I should try
her country. I was also sick and tired of LA so I tried it and liked it.
End of story.

And, I am no sponge. I pay 250 euros a month for my social security
(which includes health insurance, old age pension and sick pay). It's
nice that there are no prior medical conditions trip, percentage plans
or deductibles, I'll tell you.

My "weasel phrases" were to give *you* the benefit of the doubt. There
really is no reasonable doubt that commercials influence consumers - the
idea that there is "zero support" for that is laugable.

Unlike you I actually read some of the links.

I've always been skeptical of your claims to be a teacher. From Day
One. You demonstrate on a regular basis that you simply don't have the
knowledge of the subject matters that you claim to teach to be one.

You made a claim - an absurd one - that there is "zero support" for the idea
that commercials work. I showed research that proved otherwise - and you
sank to personal attacks, insults, and open lies.

You made a claim - an absurd one - that there is "zero support" for the idea
that commercials work. I showed research that proved otherwise - and you
sank to personal attacks, insults, and open lies.

Am I correct in postulating that 100% of those childish "self-assessment"
retorts are made by the Windows crowd?

Likely... in the end here the facts are simple: he made a claim that was
completely unsupportable (how there is "zero support" that ads worked). I
pointed him to all sorts of scholarly research where the effects of ads have
been studied - and he discounted it all and sank to insults and accusations.

Whatever.
