Bahahahahaha! Are you serious? You have to be joking making a stupid
statement like this. I know who this is, this is that same nut that said
that Apple has to "ratify" External SATA before it can become an industry
standard.

The ONLY thing he is right about is that they designed a chip for
Apple's thin notebook. Now mind you it's the same Core 2 Duo in other
computers, it's just made smaller and uses less power.

Intel wants to have everyone as their customer but they're hardly
desperate. Before they had Apple, they sold the vast majority of CPUs.

ah, there was a movie with that title, and it predates the show
I was referencing by a year. I was referring to the Flying
Fickle Finger of Fate that was common on Laugh-In.

I don't recall seeing that movie either.

"Intel was desperate to have Apple as a customer"
is not the same statement as
"Intel is a desparate company."

The Mac Air isn't so regular either... no on-board cd/dvd drives... does it
even have a USB slot? How about changing out the battery when it finally
dies... ahhh... it's over priced, just like all the crap apple makes...

Nice! I have no leverage for upgrading anytime soon because mine is my
work laptop and it does everything I need it to do and still screams.
:) They cost a bit more but are well worth the price.

Ah, but you don't yet understand it has a "wireless CD drive", which is
a major innovation to the industry. I think you need to learn about the
MacBook Air before you make any other comments, you'll seem very foolish
otherwise.

The Battery is less than a 5 minute replacement and the full retail
"installed" price is $129 in the 4-5 year timeframe, or do it yourself
for less than $60. Apple was once again very smart on this.

And while I agree it's probably $200 more than what a PC user can
afford, it won't effect Mac users since they know it will hold its value
better than a slim PC laptop by over 300%. Wow. Such a deal if you are
good with money.

<chuckle>
You really are a fool for marketing, LOL. This "major innovation" is
nothing more than a convenient button for n00bs, like you! I have been
using CDs and DVDs wirelessly like that FOR YEARS!!! Thinkpad X-Series have
no optical drive unless you connect the Ultrabase, so I do this very often.
All you need to do is to Share an optical drive and its there on the network
to be used by any other computer on the network, wirelessly or wired. It
makes no difference. I haven't done this with a Mac, but I'm pretty sure you
can even do it within a Mac network.

You need to learn more about computers before you tell us more about these
"major innovations" and bespoke processors.

you are just talking about simple mounting. not actually installing
software from another wireless Mac or PC. a chuckle for sure!

you were the one that didn't understand what Apple has done. I suggest
you learn about what Apple has just innovated. no other PC can do this.

http://www.apple.com/macbookair/guidedtour/

Much less wirelessly "migrate" all data from an older Mac to a MacBook
Air... wow!

Someday you'll catch up with what Apple is doing.

Ultraportables have been around for many years, and most of them do not
compromise on functionality as much as this Macbook Air seems to. It has a
lot of disadvantages, and the main selling point of it being thin, is has no
appeal to me. It is still large. My Thinkpad X-Series laptops are much
smaller, if a bit thicker. They are more portable and have very long
battery life, and you can use them on airline seats, which they were
essentially designed for.
